Ready to Elope?

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Elope”? I’m guessing some of the following pop into your head; secret marriage, runaway lovers, rebellious love, Vegas baby, or even getting hitched by Elvis.

When I hear elopement here are a few things that come to mind; Wildly in love, adventurous couples, intimate ceremonies, destination weddings, epic locations, backyard weddings, and low stress dreamy ceremonies.

The truth is over the past five years the term Elopement has drastically changed. To elope used to have such a negative connotation to it and that is not the case anymore. With the wedding industry ever evolving we see more and more people doing weddings “their way” & I freaking love that!

“Elope's meaning is shifting towards "a small destination wedding" whereas it used to mean "to runaway and secretly get married," and before that "for a married woman to runaway with a new lover," and even before that it just meant "to escape or runaway" without the romantic context.” -Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Here is the thing.

Marriage and weddings look different for each and every couple. No two relationships are alike and your wedding day shouldn’t be either!

Not sure if a traditional wedding is for you? If you align with any of the questions below maybe you should consider planning an elopement for your big day!

  • Do you and your partner crave adventure & spontaneity?

  • Do you want to save money for your future and not spend it on a big shebang?
